Drive the Blue Ridge Parkway from Little Switzerland to Linville Falls. Take in the AMMMMAAAZZZING fews from the Blue Ridge Parkway on this stretch of America’s favorite drive. Grab some coffees and breakfast pastries at one of our local coffee shops (DT’s Blue Ridge Java, Fox and the Fig, Southern Ridge Cafe) and take an early morning drive along the parkway. Park at an overlook and enjoy your coffee and pastries while listening to your favorite tunes inside your warm car.
Sunset Tour. Blue Ridge Outdoor Magazine named Roan Mountain one of the best sunset summits in WNC! Roan Mountain is located here in Mitchell County NC and offers more than just amazing views. From forested trails that open up to panoramic views to plant species that are found no where else in the world and to even rare species of birds…there are so many unique experiences and adventures to be had on Roan Mountain. It is also known for romantic elopements and engagements, so keep that in mind if you have a ring burning a hole in your pocket for your special one! And during the winter, Roan Mountain can look like Narnia which makes some awesome photo opportunities! Be sure to stop in Bakersville on your way up to the Roan for your picture worthy sunset to end your day.
Your Hallmark Movie Moment Your very own Hallmark movie moment can happen on your trip to Spruce Pine. It’s true! Visit Springmaid Mountain where you can schedule a mountain trail ride (with an experienced guide). There is no more beautiful time to ride through on trails covered in snow.
