Fall is a beautiful season in our area and we welcome visitors from far and wide to celebrate the changing of the leaves. 2018 is poised to be a great leaf looking season in and around Spruce Pine, Bakersville and Little Switzerland. Come enjoy these Fall Adventures.
Thanks to a warm and wet 2018, fall color experts say we are positioned for a colorful autumn! Reports are showing that our Fall color display may show up a little later than usual, so make your travel plans accordingly. Look for the first peaks of color in early October at elevations above 6,000 ft. and then moving down the mountains from Grandfather to Mt. Mitchell, Roan and beyond. Stay up to date on the Fall color report here on our Fall Color in the Mountains page.
There’s always plenty of adventures to take in while you are here enjoying the breathtaking beauty of our fall season. Check out some of the events planned in the area for the season.
